We Started!
In 2017 we bought our first home, but it almost didn’t happen. The issue wasn’t finding a house to buy, although that came with its own challenges. The real trouble came from not just buying a house, but making sure everyone else in the chain did on the same day. Enter the world of property chains - a real estate juggling act.
We had several problems. Updates were hard to get, our conveyancer didn’t hand us over when on vacation. Also, our completion date changed after giving notice on our rental. To fix the ongoing delays, we negotiated the final price at the last minute to ensure a completion date. This lack of transparency was a massive stressor on what should have been an exciting time.
Five years later and the experience still resonated with us.
We heard similar stories from other family and friends. They also recognised the problem and wanted help. So, we decided to take action and find a solution. We used our knowledge in technology and project management to create a system - Clear Chain. The service makes a usually unclear process more transparent. Transparency adds accountability, and accountability leads to deadlines being met, removing the stress from buying and selling.
